hi,
i got to the last stage of finishing my 1st warmoth guitar.
after applying the last (9th) coat of wipe on poly on the body and the neck and letting them dry for 1 entire week i need to get sanding and polishing my guitar to some degree of shine.
i know that the wipe on poly will not be as shiny a nitro lacquer and 2 parts poly, but i want to do all that is possible to get my guitar as shiny as possible.
what should i do?
should i wet sand with 1000-3000 sand paper first, then use 0000 steel wool and some polishing compound (automotive) followed by carnauba wax?
should i just wet sand, polish and wax only (no steel wool)?
should i use 0000 steel wool straight away without 1000-3000 sand paper ?
i know the steel wool will dull the poly, what i wonder is if the meguiars polishing compound i got (deep crystal polish step 2) will get it back to the original shine.
i`m a bit confused at this point as i don`t have any experience and don`t want to fudge up my project as i`m very close to the end of the tunnel.
