Hi, what is the difference between wenge, rosewood and mahogany necks in all aspects (tone, neck stability and so on).
Also, what's a good fretboard to use in conjunction with wenge.
Please note: I intend on attaching this to a VIP mahogany body with a maple cap
Thanks

Did you look at the descriptions on warmoth.com?  They are accurate. https://warmoth.com/guitar-neck-woods
Did you try googling the janka scale?
Try googling the names rosewood, wenge etc a look for attributes.

thanks for suggesting to google the janka scale. the Warmoth site didn't give much detail with regards to Indian rosewood, it just pretty much says its a common fretboard wood and its brightness is the same as mahogany but that's not telling me much.

I have two Conklin basses that are wenge-on-wenge. My appreciation is more for the feel than any barely-noticeable tonal qualities, given the active pickups and on-board EQ.

After all, it's not like I'm going to be able to swap out those necks with one made of another wood to evaluate any audible differences. ;)

VERY smooth to play. I love them. Planning a baritone build for the future with a wenge neck and purpleheart board.
