can anybody recommend a different brand wax to me?

I have used staples crystal clear wax which worked well for a while, but it can be hard to buff.. and for some reason it is not working for me at all recently, maybe because it dried out, or its old.

so any recommendations? should I go for beeswax? or car wax? this will go on top of danish oil and probably on true oil next time.

I hand rubbed Krank n stein with turtle wax, worked just fine for me. But I wasn't after a really glossy shine either, just wanted a nice sheen.... :icon_biggrin:

Briwax products are very nice.  I've never used Staples wax so really can't say whether it would be that different.  Briwax is a beeswax/carnauba blend.  IME when there is a problem with wax not buffing out well the culprit is usually too much wax.  Thinner is always better.

And if your arm is not yet ready to fall off then you haven't buffed enough.

IM an amateur, and I didnt let my oil finish( Cabots Tung wipe off) throughly cure before I waxed with with a normal auto paste wax, but so far no detrimental effects. The oil finish had dried pretty well though fro a couple of days with the fan blowing on it. I wanted to, like, let  it set up for a week, but after a couple a days I just said eff it and put the wax on.

so I am about to order either this:
http://www.woodcraft.com/Family/2001635/2001635.aspx (clear)
or this one.. (seems a great match for my watco danish oil finish)
http://www.woodcraft.com/Family/2004289/2004289.aspx

or going to pick up this from the home depot..
http://www.minwax.com/products/specialty_products/paste_finishing_wax.html

any further thoughts on this? anybody?
