Warmoth's "Gold" Wilkinson Tremolos are FAR from (glossy) gold.

I'm not sure why so many of the builds we've seen use it. People seem to get such a hard on for it. I know it's a great bridge but only the black one matches anything. I had one and loved it but I gave it to another forum member because he really needed it and I didn't play that guitar much at all. I know it functions well but imo there are much classier options out there. I wonder if we see it so often because it's the only upgrade 2pt. non Floyd W sells.

My question would be why wouldn't Warmoth offer both the VS100 and the VG300?  Seems to me Warmoth likes to keep things simple.  Nothing wrong with that BUT, they're serving a very niche consumer group.  Give the people what they want.  I wish they had UPS 2-Day Air.  I'd pay it on some things.  USPS Priority from them takes 3-4 days to get here to Louisiana.  UPS Ground takes a solid week.

Tell you what I think I'm just going to pay it forward.  Once I get the VG300, I'm gonna throw up the "gold" VS100 for free for someone who really wants/needs it, but can't easily afford it.

The VS100 is the most commonly known one, so that's what they carry, and can satisfy minimum order requirements.
It's easier for an end-consumer like ourselves to find one as a one-off order at retail than it is for a vendor like Warmoth to purchase in bulk at wholesale.

I love the bar assembly in those.  I've often thought of purchasing one just to grab that piece to retro my Gotoh Floyd bar assembly.

Late to the party, but this should (have) work(ed) too:

...it is the vs50MKii, and yes it fits the W-routing for Wilkinson vs100.

Cheers

Yah, I saw that but the saddles are stainless steel.  :toothy12:

Here we go:

The Wilkinson VS401 Gold.

This looks nice, wondering again if it will fit the existing bridge studs/inserts for the VS100.

I got the VG300 in, and it fits like a glove--didn't even have to change inserts, just screwed the new posts in and it fit perfectly.  It looks SO much better than the VS100.  Not even close, 10x better.  Ok, who NEEDS a free VS100 flat gold trem.  If you can make a good case for why you need it, I'll give it to you for shipping cost.

If the alternative is that you will never use it, i could use it in this project, which needs another tremolo: http://unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=25542.0. The "good case" - if i have any - should be that i'll keep that a "cheap" project. However, i'm a healthy man earning a good salary, so there should be someone else out there who should need it for a better case. If so, i am more than happy to stand back.

Very generous offer, Vikingred.
And also, im glad you found your better-suiting gold thing!

Cheers

Vallhagen, I got PM'd by a guy who works with youth in need and is going to get this bridge on to helping a kid build a guitar, so I cannot turn that down.  Thanks for asking.

I'm truly glad to read that. Gifts for a good case, in the first place. Again, i'm all happy to stand back.

Cheers

The trem arrived yesterday. Thank you so much. These guys really appreciate this stuff. These guys aren't cranking out masterpieces but they are making some usable instruments. This is really making a difference for them. These builds are showing these guys that working hard and sticking with something can yield amazing results. This gives these guys something to be proud of. The most immediate benefit is occupying idle time. There's been a few guys here that have helped me out. Fellas, thank you.

You're welcome brother, hope it inspires a young man to pursue a stringed instrument journey.
