Warmoth Today

Yeah, you're right. I don't really hate Twitter, I just think it's as useless as tits on a bull.

I think Twitter is as good as the people you follow. I don't follow many people, and a huge majority of them are my personal real-life friends. As such, my twitter timeline is mainly an ongoing feed of smartass comments and one-line jokes.

More goodies from the shop.  Here is a custom SG made from customer supplied wood.

Working with customer supplied wood opens an entire can of worms.  The wood needs to meet minimum dimensions for the specific body or neck application.  More often than not, the wood needs additional drying time and additional planing/sanding to get rid of any cupping or warpage.  This extends the build time out and results in extra labor.  That's why it costs the same (or more) to use customer supplied wood over Warmoth wood.

If you have a piece of wood that you really want to use for a project, that's cool.  Please understand that there may be additional hurdles to clear.

How about some mahogany?  I found this sitting in the driveway this morning.  Gonna be a lot of tiltback guitar necks soon....

er - wow.  Is all that for neck blanks?

either that or Wyliee is doing hardwood floors for the missus. Looks a little skinny for bodies.

Maybe they're going to start offering "butcher block" laminate bodies, like Les Claypool's "Rainbow" Carl Thompson.  :icon_jokercolor:

Only a $500 upcharge for a 15 piece body.  :headbang1:  :evil4:  :guitaristgif:

Ugh... the zoot suit again.  The concept sounds SO cool, and yet the actual execution.... yech.  Plus, with layers that thin, and with a laminated neck as well, there's a LOT more glue in that than this:

I think I'd even take a Wishnevksy over a Zoot suit SG:

Still, I'd be curious to see what Warmoth could do with a multilam body - such as the SG above - but with a bunch more pieces.
