Warmoth the 3rd - The Body Has Arrived!

Lol.  I'm glad you found it amusing.

Look what showed up today!

I think I'm going with bubinga with a pau ferro fretboard, stainless steel frets.  :toothy10:

In seeing that blue, it would look ever deadlier (than bubinga) with a really dark brown neck... rosewood, or padouk + two years. You getcher sonic blue Katy Perryish bubbly fun from the bod, and temper it with dark jungle savagery from the neck. Bubinga looks kinda... nice, IYKWIM.

Blue like that + dark brown is gorgeous. but you can go ahead and not do that, since i've been planning on making a jazzmaster to that effect for quite some time. just a matter of when i'll have funds again.
really though, while I think pau ferro or rosewood would look incredible on that, I think the reddish color of bubinga would work really well and it would fit the tortoise pickguard.
honestly i think anything will look good on that. it's just a classy lookin bass

This is gunna look Yummieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  :icon_thumright:

Is this your 1st Bass Build ?
:rock-on:

Yeah I think the bubinga + pau ferro would be the best color combo to pick up the pickguard, and I think I'll get closest to what I want tone-wise with either that or all pau ferro.

Yes, this is my first Warmoth bass.  I just started playing bass recently.  So I'm sure I'll be ready for another W build in couple years.

. . . I'm that whisper in the back of your head that you know you want to follow . . . . paaaaaaaaauuuuuuu ferrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhssssssssssssssss...............  :evil4:

Okay kids, I have pups on the way from Roadhouse and something special on the way from Doug (hint: it's not a neck plate), plus a couple other parts here and there on their way.  I am hoping I'll be able to order the neck next week.

If you're not going to be any more clear than that, those are the images we're going with <grin>

Hey that's me on the right!  :laughing7:

No no no no no! Not that Roadhouse! Although it is something standing side by side, only working in harmony instead of fighting. Well they are fighting hum!  :icon_tongue:

As for the second picture.... Me-Yow!

Cute, but it needs a Floyd...  :laughing7:

I don't think the short scale bass necks have angled headstocks, so most likely not; if it's not a control or neck plate, there's not a lot left that could be metal, lol.  Potentially it could be custom keys for the tuning machines or some kind of string retainer, or maybe a brass nut?

OH - is it the bridge?
