I just learned that the old RGs had Fender speced neck pockets, which lead me to GAS a bit for getting some old 550/750 body and getting an Arcade neck for it... I'm not the biggest fan of the Ibanez headstock, but Jackson style headstock with an RG body looks SO good! The RG pointy horns really fits with the pointy Jackson head. (of course... gotta take away that Arcade "tumor"  :tard: )

Has anybody tried this? :party07:

First, I think shaving the tumor is the right thing. I believe Warmoth re-shaped the headstock this way so people can do it easily with a piece of sandpaper.

I haven't done it or seen it but it looks you can do it. It will probably help if you order it without pre-dilled holes although Warmoth charges extra for that.

Yeah, it doesn't look like it would be too hard to do :)

Actually, I've read aroun the internet and somebody said he put a regular Fender neck on without problem.
So yeah I did read around on other forums and stuff before posting here, but the more information on the internet the better  :glasses9:

There was a guy that posted some aftermarket RG bodies with strat necks I believe. I'm pretty sure there was some pretty good details. I just can't remember who it was or what the threads were titled.

I don't have any experience with those guitars, but right off the bat, I see a potential problem. At the end of the neck, there is a recess for a fretboard extension. (I would assume.) If you get a Warmoth neck with a 24 fret extension, you will need to be sure that it fits in the recess. Differences in neck geometry can equate to differences in fretboard width. If, on the other hand, you do not get a neck with a 24 fret extension, then you have to deal with the unsightly exposure of the recess.

There are heaps of Ibby body builders out there - esp on ebay.  I'd LOVE to get a custom S body.
