Recently I noticed that a lot of pedal builders (for whatever reason) have a page on their website dedicated to their discontinued pedals. I figured what the heck, let's give it a try.

Warmoth discontinued products.

I was thinking maybe I could flesh out the page with more info, maybe other resources to date parts, like the rough year when the Warmoth brand changed, etc.

What you think?

Cool! Do you have the (very) short lived Rickenbacker parts on there?

<update> Nope! Too short lived it seems...

I honestly didn't even know they existed.

I'm finding to be harder than I anticipated. Photos of lots of things no longer exist, end everyone's memory is fading when it comes to dates and details.

Definitely... and if there's enough info and pictures it could be the precursor to a book with a lot of pics like one of those fender books. Paperback $40? I'd buy one. Do it like different eras ... evolving machinery.. . Sales ... paint jobs ... artists ... styles.... law suits ... like a 50th anniversary book ... start the interviews with the oldest people ... anyway nows the time to do it ... and if it doesn't work no matter ... it's the attmpt that counts ... like evil kneival. Don't know till ya try.

🤪 there was variaxe stuff?!?!?!
I'd love to get a 7/8th anything pre-routed for Variax guts (I have a variaxe 300 that sees a lot of use still)
Oh yeah I remember looking at that back in the day. I was trying to find out something about building a guitar with variax guts and found a snippet on a forum about Warmoth making the bodies for Yamaha and also selling custom color versions on the Warmoth site.

I love this. The dates of discontinuation and specific styles that resemble those of certain other brands is a fascinating read. Like all of the styles modeled after shapes from someone who rhymes with TD Shmich in '07 and the Shmibson shapes in '13. It may not immediately appeal to anyone outside of hardcore guitar nerds, but archiving legacy and institutional knowledge is still important.

A few more missing styles.

There was a VIP one that was 2-1/4" thick like an LP. Its mentions because the current VIP2 was mentioned on the home page from 1999.

There was also a HOLLOW version of the strat which was not chambered but I am not sure how far in the weeds you want to go with this. There are also several mentioned items that had flat top or carved top versions. like the LP and LPS.
