This was the forth and final coat of 50/50 Olympic Girl/Base stain.
I received it routed for a single coil. Homie don't play that, so I made my own space for a wide range.
Yeah, I know it looks like bad surgery, but it worked.
I feel like the grain popped really well but I didn't get the white wash on the top that I was hoping for. I know it's a light stain on a traditionally darker wood, but I'm alright with how it came out.
The cedar body soaked up some tint for sure.
I botched the Wudtone wipe on finish. Apparently it needs to be layered quite thin to "self-level" and I left it a little too thick. I hit it lightly with some fine steel wool until I got down to all wood. I sprayed it down with orange oil for a wet sand with super fine steel wool and ended up shooting with a super thin lacquer for a top coat. It polished up quite nice and I like you can see/feel the pores in the final product. The grain in the cedar has a cool gold reflective thing going on (that's nearly impossible to capture in a picture).
Warmoth Roasted Maple Wizard neck w/ bone nut, Schaller locking staggered tuners, Babicz bridge
Seymour Duncan Custom Shop ~10K Wide Range neck & ~29k BG1400 stacked bridge on 3way w/ 1M pots and a .022 Cornell Dublier
Tell me what ya think, for better or worse. I'm a newb and wanna learn some of the tricks.
