In a way this guy got sequentially overlooked = there's only room at the top for one, and Winter just kept bubbling along behind Jim Hendrix, then Duane Allman -> Billy Gibbons, then Stevie Ray. I have his rocking in the 70's video and he's really the only one who can sit down with a dobro and play note-perfect old blues. He had the misfortune to get saddled with a manager who liked heroin as much as Johnny did, and just kept buying it, and buying it, and buying it, rather like the bassist in the Jerry Garcia band.

Where does he store that muscle memory? Where does the strength come from to use it? Guy looks like he invented anorexia.

You're right, though. Guy's been overlooked like a dustbunny in a whorehouse. Or, maybe that's why. Dopers are notoriously unreliable and unpredictable, so who wants to do business with one? It's really too bad he's so good.

It's amazing the extent to which you can manage to personify the old adage about opinions and assholes...

I remember when that tune came out, even the AM radio stations played the snot out of it. It was so original, everybody just freaked. But, it got to where everybody was so sick of it, it was almost YABSS (Yet Another Bob Seger Song).

Yeah, I know I'm out of sync on the space/time continuum there, but you know what I mean.

Well, we got Austin represented in that video.  An Antones T-shirt and I think that's one of MARC Erlwhine's guitars.  He's gonna be playing here in a few months...
