I am with Cagey...how many coats have you applied so far, on top of the burst that is? You may want to sand with some 600 before the final coats. careful not to burn thru to the burst.
It may be the lighting but it looks rough and the wood is REALLY absorbing the nitro.
You might want to get some naphtha for that duty. Water isn't really a good thing to have around wood, particularly wood you're going to be applying a finish to. Naphtha is great for a lotta things, and it's easy to come by. Even Lowe's sells it.
