Anybody watch these? If you answered no, you're lucky.

Almost everyone lip-sync'ed,
The only person with talent was actually the backing musician for a "B.O.B",
Lady Gaga DID NOT perform, but she sang a line or two during an acceptance speech. Surprisingly, blew all the "singers" of the night out of the water.

Oh, sorry, Taylor Swift tried to sing.  Lol.

BTW, Lady Gaga did infact bogard all the awards. 8 out of 10-12 nominations? (she was nominated twice for some awards... Only Gaga can beat Gaga)

If you watch an entertainment awards show hoping to see the "best" of whatever is on display, fuhgeddaboutit.  It's about the industry congratulating itself on having been very successful, not about recoginzing the best of the year.

Example:

Grammy for Best New Artist in 1978 - A Taste of Honey.

Also-rans - Elvis Costello, The Cars.

In 1990:  Milli Vanilli!  Also-rans:  Neneh Cherry, Indigo Girls (neither my faves, but considerably better "artists" than MV, even if were to assume counterfactually that they actually performed the songs they were honored for.

It gets worse from there.

Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, first year the award was given - Jethro Tull for their Dire-Straits-flavored "Crest of a Knave"!  Who did they beat?  Metallica, "And Justice For All"!

So, yeah, music awards are a chance for the famous to get together and be smug, and engage in bizarrely out-of-touch popularity contests.

I saw "Lady Gaga" and immediately lost all interest in whatever you are posting about. :tard:

Hey, I hate pop music, but I've realized that she writes her own music, she makes catchy as hell hooks, and her music is actually kind of interesting.

She can outplay most people it seems, there's just more money in pop than honkey-tonk.

These two own Lady Gaga at her own song...just saying...

Oh, that's what talent looks like. Lol, FU, A7X-type bands!

I'm not saying that this is anywhere NEAR my style of music, but I must emphasize that she is talented...

The first time I was forced to listen to Gaga, I told my wife that her stuff sounded a little like a trippy Hawkwind album--she took it as an insult. I don't think she's gonna be around a whole hell of a lot longer to be honest with you. Each one of her shows costs more to put on than Obama is paid in a year. As soon as she has an album that people are apathetic about, she won't be able to afford to do those kind of gigs, and she won't be able to find venues small enough that will do her shows.

Then there's Taylor Swift--yeah, you're skinny and you squint all the time--we know!

I did like Chelsey Handler's comment about T-Swizzle, "SHOW YOUR TITS."

Classy? I think not...

You know what, I just watched the 10 minute explicit version of the original, and I am totally fudging confused now.
What's up with the cigarette glasses and the soda cans in her hair?

It's symbolism for how American politics are the same recycled material with new paint, and how television's "Political pundits" are actually shouding the truth with their twisted version of facts.

....
She likes odd fashion. Does everything need a meaning? I take it as since this is IN A JAIL, you use what you can access to be (un)fashionable.

That was indeed badass.

I'd say LG has gotten what she was after - notoriety that masks the fact that she's actually pretty talented as a musician and songwriter.  Maybe she'll flame out in the public eye and then live comfortably on all the dough she is hopefully making, and quietly go on to score movies, write jingles, etc., a la Mark Mothersbaugh or Danny Elfman.
