Vintage tint finish

Really by 2000 the finish was pretty thin from Fender, by their standards.  Try a mid 70's Strat.  You take the finish off the neck and discover they used jumbo frets.  The neck finish is about .020 thick....

yeah the nitro is super-duper thin. i love it. smooth! almost reminds me of the raw maple neck on my wolfgang, but much nicer.

It was neck finish question, right?
On re-reading, most likely. I suppose they don't do vintage tint on bodies.

Probably worth noting that Warmoth's satin body finishes don't have nitro, for those who are curious.

I had my Warmoth Super Strat finished in Vintage Tint Gloss,  ...check it out here: ( http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=50.0 ).....both the neck and body, but that is poly.....they didn't offer Nitro at that time...........I wanted to tint the Black Korina  and bring out the grain to compliment the neck,.... I don't think they will do the Nitro on the bodies, though its always worth calling...money talks..........

It is really worth noting as Max said the poly is very, very thin...so much so that a few swipes with Sand paper to satin up the gloss on the neck took it right down to smooth..... Warmoths poly may not be as Tone friendly as Nitro, but I think its so thin that it would be hard to note the difference compared to a Nitro job in the tone dept.....

I know the Vintage guys would never say that but Warmoths poly isn't like something you would find on a Squire or Epiphone guitar, mine was so thin I could actually flake it away with my thumb nail at the edge of the controll cavity, thats a plus in my book.....

Mine is homemade - not Warmoth. I dyed the body with minwax oil stain, black grain filler, then clear spray can nitro (deft).
