I just saw that Uli Jon Roth is doing a gig tonight at a rather small venue here i Stockholm at a place I walk by every day to and from work. Woohoo! :icon_thumright:

Then I found out that it's all sold out ... Bummer! :sad1:

I have been thinking about that. It won't start until 22:00 (that's about 7 hours from now) so there's plenty of time to scout around.
And the (original) ticket price wasn't that bad - about 230 SKR (about $27).

Compared to the Mr Big tickets that are between 525 and 740 SKR (about $ 61 to 86) when they're playing here later this month.  :o

Just saw him this year here in Seattle, at a tiny little venue called Studio 7. It sure was a treat to see him play Sails of Charon from ten feet away.

I haven't seen Uli play since the early 2000s, also on the bill were Glenn Hughes, Frank Marino, and Jack Bruce. The time before that was 1985.

I think I should try and get to see him around about now again :-)

Well, I went by the place after work, but it looks pretty bleak for me to get a ticket ... :sad1:

Two more dates in Sweden with tickets. No idea how close these are to you.

That's cool. A good way to check out fingerings of things...

Yes, the distances in Sweden can be great. Although Sweden is not a big country but it is pretty long from north to south.
A fact we learn early is that the length from the south tip going up to the north tip equals the distance from the south tip down to Rome, Italy(!).

I play in a Scorpions tribute band, and have performed Sails of Charon many, many times. However, it's never as beautifully fluid as it is when Uli plays it.

Here is me hacking through part of it in a Warmoth video (starts at about 1:55):

Hi double A, yes I remembered you playing in a Scorpions tribute. Uli is indeed very fluid in the way he plays. Good job on Sails...
