So I finaly landed a heritage accoustic, It's a 1990 HFT 445, they never really made to many, it's 25 1/2 scale, spruce top, maple neck with rosewood board, mahogany rim and back. She's had a hard life, neck was re-set kinda ugly but solid and the angle is correct, nice low action no buzz, at some point a huge copper jack plate was pot on, I kinda like the 2000 leagues under the sea look it gives. it has quite a bit of strumming scat including a chip out of the sound hole, but for all the use little fret ware. She was obviously a gigger as evidanced by the large number of nicks and dings, but few if any through the nitro. The best part is the sound, got a great deep growl but also has crisp highs, best sounding dred I'v played probably ever.. and the neck plays like an es 175. low and slim, super easy to fret bare chords and solo. I'm hoping this weekend I will be able to remove all the hardware and buff her with rubbing compound.
