Here is my new build from scratch: a crossig between a Strat and a Tele, The idea was to achieve the most distiguish sounds of both guitars.

Body: swamp ash
Finish: natural, poly
Neck: bidseye maple
Fingerboard: Indian rosewood. 9.5" radius. 2.3mm frets (medium)
Bridge: Gotoh T style (6 saddles)
Pickups: Iron Gear Steel Twin II on neck and bridge (wired to a switch to control the dual coils of each pickup; not humbuckers, dual length coils). Iron Gear Texas Loco in middle
Controls: volume and tone, with Fender amp knobs (60' - 63' Vibrolux, etc)
Pickup switch: double pole wired as a standard Strat except in the middle position you have the neck + bridge pickups instead the middle one

Opinions?

Excellent, I like what you've done there. Good call on the Tele headstock! So, how does she sound?

Agreed. That's a really interesting mix between the two models. Really nicely done. What pickups did you put it it?

Eclectic, to say the least. And I mean that philosophically, as in chosen from the best! Nicely done.

Looks really good. I've often thought that the marriage between the two would be outstanding. You just proved it. Thumbs up.

Thanks for the great comments. The guitar sounds amazing!, vith a lot of quack in the 2 and 4 positions and very Telly on the other 3. The Iron Gear pickups are a really good option if low budget it's a must, really good sounding pickups in general, not only for the price. The dual length coils are a really cool option, you have instant acces to a little extra push with the same sound, really good for soloing!
