Tru Oil

What’s the deal with all the stuff about Tru Oil here? I’m a cabinet/custom closet builder in the US who does some additional woodworking like tables, chairs, book cases, displays so I’m a bit familiar with different finishes/finishing techniques - poly, lacquer, stain, dye, BLO, tung oil, polyx/spray, brush, rub, French polish. I hadn’t heard of Tru Oil until I started reading here. What is it and what is it good for?

My reason for being here is I’m headed down a custom build path I haven’t ventured before and was researching it when I ran into all these posts about Tru Oil.

It's just another finish.  Originally used on gun stocks.  Try a Google search.  You'll find lots of info.

It's marketed as a gunstock finish: I believe its just BLO with some hardeners, but it makes for a very easy and attractive finish.
