Transparent brown finish

Just wondering if anyone has a Warmoth guitar with the transparent Brown finish. The pictures online make it look almost reddish. I wanted to order a Swamp Ash body that had a brown finish so it would look almost like walnut. Kind of like the attached.

Would love to see any real life pics if they're floating out there.

Go to LMI  https://www.lmii.com/products/finishing/dyes/dye-concentrates and order this dye  (FMDYMEKBR MEK-based, dye concentrate, brown, 2 oz.) Do a test board first but I think it will get you pretty close.  Good luck and do a DIY Finishing thread so we can see the progress.

If you're looking at Warmoth's own trans brown finish, then you're right - I'd guess it'd be labelled mahogany brown rather than walnut.

It's a nice finish though - I'm sure there have been a couple through here fairly recently, but I could only find this one.

You also take a look at the backs of these.

As amigarobbo suggests, you could always go for actual walnut - maybe just a lam top to avoid weight issues.

Otherwise, get an unfinished body  and diy - or maybe send it to Tonar!

Yeah, I was trying to avoid the walnut due to weight issues/additional price.

I don't have any pics of the back on me, but my VIP, which has a mahogany back is finished by the W in Trans Brown. I'll see about getting a pic for you
