Tone boost circuits are they worth it?

It has been a while since I have wired up guitar controls. I'm trying to catch up on some the guitar onboard tone controls. Are there some tone boost circuits that are worth investigating?  Or has tone moved to pedals and stacks?  I've seen some wiring packages that add a couple of toggle switches to a pick guard and bring in a half dozen enhancements and variations.  Are any of these worth while or not? I'm a fan of push pull pots for coil splitting but I have always been unimpressed by circuit boards in a guitar. So I'd like to hear other people's opinions and experiences.  :yourock:

They are completely subjective.
Best advise, if you have a pickguard loaded instrument, get a pickguard as a spare to bastardize & experiment with.  You can get cheapo's at Guitar Fetish for that, and they have some circuits on their site as well on the cheap.  The EMP PA-2 Booster works with active pickups as a clean boost also.

The world is your oyster.
