This is what happens when you have a dinner celebration after completing a freelance project with lots of drinks and a nice paycheck, you get home, sit in a bathtub with the iPad and surf the warmoth site and booyah.
For the price I had to grab it, not the back I would use since I prefer mahogany or ash but this'll do.
Finish.
Gonna dye the top the peacock blue I used on my previous build I might give the back a light wash of amber just to change it up, no spray equipment so I have to research a way to tiny up the solid maple. Or I might lay the ebony stain on as heavily as possible. I will then seal it with Solarez grain filler and clear it with Solarez Poly Gloss. I've heard great things about this and since I live in an apartment with sunlight coming up to my porch, it's definitely the way to go.
Neck:
I was originally going to go full Wenge but I've never played one before and can't find one in town to test. Then I heard about the allergy problems a few people had so I just decided to go with my favorite combo of maple and rosewood with a Warhead headstock.
Parts:
Floyd Rose bridge of course, Grover tuners, those strap locks from GFS.
Electronics:
Electro socket jack
Volume and tone....just kidding no tone control (settle down Cagey)
Pickups:
Going full metal on this sucker with Dimebag (RIP) in mind so debating on these pickups for the bridge:
Seymour Duncan Invader
Bill Lawrence 500XL
Or go to Ken at Roadhouse to custom wind me a nice hot scorcher.
For the neck I haven't decided yet, maybe an SD 59'er.
Now I've gotta wait on the neck for a couple weeks, next week order the parts and hopefully I don't botch.
