So I have built 3 warmoths and am currently working on my 4th BUT ill tell you what....my first is still my fav! I play it almost exclusively (and its a single hum with a floyd) I use it for everything from jazz to shred to rock to country!

is this the case with anyone else?? is your first build your fav? do you have one warmoth that you choose above the rest?? id love to hear all about everyones number 1 guitar!!!!

Sadly, none of the Warmoth's I own are my "Favorite"........... :-\

But it's my Carvin, and my Fender carved top tele that take the cake, Warmoth is third though!!!! And I do love Warmoth, and I know one day I'll get it together and make one that's The "one".

I gotta say there's some serious mojo between me and the first Warmoth Tele I have. The old pickups in it are the first ones I had when I was a kid and upgraded an old guitar....Fender L series Tele bridge pickup and a Guild humbucker in the neck....ATM, there's only the bridge pickup in, and the guitar is wired like an Esquire, but it is long overdue for the humbucker addition....I got the concentric 250/500 pots just yesterday and there's some soldering scheduled over the weekend!

Playing that guitar tho, all the prior thinking paid dividends....Swamp Ash body, Butterscotch Blonde, gold hardware, Maple neck with Ebony fretboard.....Absolutely nailed the tone I was looking for. :hello2:

It has to be my Carved Top Warmoth VW followed very closely by my Gibson LP and my Warmoth LP.  The 2 LPs are completely interchangable when it comes to which I perfer.  My Spalted Tele comes in at #3

Mine is my custom Billy Bo, then Krank n Stein. Those two have the best necks I've ever played, next to my Jackson's... :headbang1:

R6's Jupiter Thunderbird is very nice looking, and I haven't heard or touched it.

My favourite guitar happens to be my only one, so to answer the question: No?

At the moment, I only have two guitars. But THE ONE has seen others come and go. It's an old old Zion hardtail strat. Had three singles when I bought it, sported a bridge humbucker for a while, back to three singles w/ EMG-SA's. When I bought this guitar, I was with my guitar buddy. He was a very young adult who'd sadly come into his inheritance early, and he had pretty much anything he wanted guitar wise. He was a shredmeister, and this guitar was not up his alley at all (hardtail S/S/S) , but he picked it up, and said "Buy this guitar! I need another guitar like I need a hole in the head." I did end up walking out with it, and have had it the last twenty years.  When I bought it, Zion was still based in my hometown. I took it by and showed it to Ken Hoover, and he said it was one of their very earliest guitars. It has a very old logo they no longer use, he placed it about '83 or so.

I was lucky enough to get a tour of the Zion shop in Raleigh NC.  They make some really nice axes.

They do all the tech work for the Guitar Center id Raleigh, but if you take the guitar straight to them rather then to Guitar Center you avoid the surcharge and actually get faster service.  I had them do the initial setup on all my guitars before I left NC.

My 62 tELE ISMY FAVORITE then my PRS, then my 2003 strat, then my Washburn, then my other washburn, In about 2 weeks when I finish my Warmoth I will decide where it fits in

My pink warmoth is my number one. It started with a W neck on a project, but i hated the body, so i moved the neck to my other stratocaster, then i saw a ridiculously cheap showcase body with a contoured heel, so i painted it pink and stuck the old neck on it. It's my favorite thing ever. Idk what i'm gonna do when the frets wear out on it.

my P-bass and whatever bass I'm working on (or playing) at the moment are consistently my favorite  :icon_thumright:

all the best,

R

My 80's Japanese strat has been my #1 for about 20 years.. played it in many gigs for years without a backup! It has a Warmoth Birdseye maple topped body now, and is technically still my number one, but I have to say that I mostly pick up my Ash Warmoth with Wenge neck...

I love all of my Warmoths, but the above and my hollow Korina/Rosewood Strat (the black rose) are just very special. it has a lot of mojo... just feels amazing to play!

Actually my Larrivee OM-O9 is the one for me. The only acoustics I have played that might possibly give it a run for its money are all around 3 grand. I try to rotate between electrics, I'm always super happy with whichever one I'm playing.

'Funny, but even though I love my Warmoth, it's not my main guitar. My main guitar is my ESP M-II. It's not really my "favorite", but rather my "go-to" workhorse.

Last 2 times I'd looked at that building, it looked closed. I'm going to try to contact them and see if I can look around.

Nothing compares to Snow White (ash bodied HSH Strat with a Floyd). All my other guitars just sit in their cases. That being said, I do have two more planned and one of those will probably take SW's place.

The only other guitar I play much at all is a kick-around stratocoustic that I bought a garage sale for $50. And the only time I use it is when I'm camping or don't have an amp sitting around.
