Perhaps we might see such a spoke wheel  from Warmoth, which would be a cool option.

The demand would have to warrant it, but yes, I'd love to see this become "standard".

How would it work on a 24 fret fingerboard?

Actually, you'd have the same problem with just about all modern necks. The "vintage" 21 fret parts are the only ones that don't have an overhang. The modern construction neck solves it, though. It has the side adjuster. You use the heel adjust to get it close while off the body, then the side adjust to dial it in if necessary once installed. So, more frets, plus you get the double-expanding truss rod. More notes, super stable, easy to maintain. The wheel adjuster is just a partial fix for an old neck design.

StewMac sells a spoke wheel truss rod nut for a little over $5 that might serve those who really want them. Has a 10-32 thread, so you'd have to check with Warmoth to find out if it could be retrofitted to their existing truss rod.

If it is compatible, thread wise, you still would need to setup a jig to route out the area of fretboard for the wheel itself to occupy.  I just haven't had the $$ to take the plunge for the U.W. team to test this effort.
