Actually, you'd have the same problem with just about all modern necks. The "vintage" 21 fret parts are the only ones that don't have an overhang. The modern construction neck solves it, though. It has the side adjuster. You use the heel adjust to get it close while off the body, then the side adjust to dial it in if necessary once installed. StewMac sells a
spoke wheel truss rod nut for a little over $5 that might serve those who really want them. Has a 10-32 thread, so you'd have to check with Warmoth to find out if it could be retrofitted to their existing truss rod.
