Can't wait to see pics of the finished build...that thing is going to look amazing.

Hi guys, thanks for the kind comments.

More details as follows:

All hardware is black

Hollow Carved Top Mooncaster

Wood: Quilt Maple / Maple on Maple
UC Front Laminate: LT1842
Contours: Contoured Heel
Binding: Black Binding
Top Finish: Bengal Burst
Back Finish: Black Burst

Neck:
Style: Superwide Strat®
Neck Wood: Wenge
Fingerboard Wood: Ebony (Black)
Nut Width: 1-7/8"
Back Shape: Wizard
Fret Size: 6105
Tuner Ream: Schaller (25/64" 11/32")
Radius: 10-16" Compound
Scale: 25-1/2"
Fret #: 22
Pre-Cut Installed String Nut: GraphTech White TUSQ XL - Earvana Nut
Inlays: Mother Of Pearl Dots
Side Dots: Mother Of Pearl Side Dots

Been working on the neck and headstock today, so as you can see i've destroyed my warranty within hours by modifying the headstock shape and inserting an inlay.
I've also burnished the neck.

A couple of blemishes on the headstock finish to sort tomorrow, then on to wiring.

For anyone else deciding on a Mooncaster, the following might help:

A standard right angle Switchcraft toggle switch DOES fit in the lower horn without much difficulty, but you will need the recessed nut (bought separately) due to the body thickness. This also means that long shaft pots are required.

Thanks Cagey.

Hey Double A, I  didn't get your reference 'till I looked it up - always preferred Star Trek to Star Wars. May I assume your next move is to telekinetically throttle me?  :toothy12:

Wowh, that headstock is EPIC! I motion that the "Gut Hook" should be a factory headstock option. Seriously, well done.

Oh my!!!
That's what I'm talking about.
Not helping my Mooncaster GAS!

Cheers........................Todd
