I'm almost considering doing it in walnut as well. I'm not sure how it compares to something like mahogany.

Didn't I already tell you that???  :icon_biggrin:

HAHAHA. I just don't freakin trust you man. I was thinking the chambering might have an effect on the brightness you described. I've looked high and low. I think it will be fine if it is brighter. I what a little more treble in my sound. Tired of basswood...

HAHA! It's cool to have some girls hang on these kinds of forums. I never see that much... I think I need to go with the flat top. I always wanted to do a flat LPS with recessed TOM. I was always envisioning it being white, but this will be much more fun!
That's our only female company here. I think we've had one or two other women at various points, but they never stuck around at all.

Awesome that' pretty cool. Love it!

i don't know if it was already said here or not... although i saw Lucky #007 alluded to it; but Joe Perry's guitar is a warmoth. i'm sure they remember the parts pretty well (seeing as who it was going to be for) so why not call them up and settle the flat top / carved top debate?

anyway, i don't think it'll matter which you go for. i personally would go for the flat top to save on weight, make it a bit more comfortable, and to save on some cash. either way this is going to be one cool build!

What's the name of this thread?

it's his Joe Perry "warmoth." just like people have built Jimi Hendrix warmoths, SRV warmoths, David Gilmour warmoths, etc. he never said that he knew Perry's was a warmoth, and the website he linked doesn't give warmoth any credit, so i was just throwing it out there knowing it might already be common knowledge to Rokstar anyway.

Yeah, one of the guys from warmoth actually talked to Joe when he ordered the body and neck! Crazy cool. There is a thread about that here somewhere...

Ok, pulled the trigger on a LPS flat top in walnut with a gold recessed TOM, wood mount humbuckers. Can't freakin wait to get to work on it!
