just started making guitars this year, and delivered the first guitar (one shown here) on 7/23/09. making a couple more now - just got my warmoth LP style necks. they are awesome on this double-cutaway Aluminaxx guitar. Check it out!

won't bore you with details but it goes something like this:

billet aluminum body 6061
Warmoth padauk wood neck with ebony wood fretboard "Vintage" style frets
tonepros bridge
cts pots
seymour duncan's '59 neck and bridge
custom wiring with blend knob (no switches)
2 tone knobs 1 volume
custom corian nut (warmoth's fell off - hehe, don't tell em)

Sweet, love aluminum guitars, but billet might be kinda heavy..... :icon_scratch:

Dig the shape for sure..... :icon_thumright:

#001 was only 6lbs my friends - was a mean rock machine until *sniffle* it found its owner...sad, they all grow up and leave home.

here's more pics - Enjoy!

the next set of Vintage Classic Customs will be 7.5lbs

Is it Hollow???
It would almost have to be to weigh only 6.5 lbs. A big chunk of billet like that solid would be about 25-30 lbs.

Lets see some pics of the back..... :icon_scratch:

Actually that's why I asked, I've worked like 6 months in a machinery (don't know how you call it, guess is this) and remember the weight of these things...

hollowed out yes. the block of 6061 was 21lbs. to start.

I am currently designing a shredhead instrument (soloist meets explorer with an aluminaxx twist) - still in concept stages - will be available in feb or march 2010 *hopefully* (6 and 7 string)
