Since my next build is going to be a tele, I've been checking out tele releated stuff on the net & found Scotty Anderson. Why he's not a household name is a mystery. He's one of the most incredible players ever.

If you like Scotty Anderson, do a search on Jim Weider--he replaces Robbie Robertson when The Band reunited in the mid 80s, and remained til Rick Danko passed away in '99.

Arlen R. takes care of business:

And pardon the lousy video on this one, but Bill Kirchen, master of the telecaster, picks up a slightly different axe for this one:

thanks for that , now i think i have the inspiration and motivation to put my telecaster back together. but i think the p-90 is getting swapped for a mini hum

Scotty Anderson likes his wife, his family, his house... he lives in Cincinnati, and he's resisted any number of entreaties to move to Nashville and "go bigtime." Danny Gatton was the same way. Scotty is a devout Christian, and it's likely that the bar jobs and squirrelly musician behavior (IYKWIM) doesn't appeal too much. There are musicians almost that good living in little towns all over the place - to be a "star" requires a combination of some talent and lots of egotism, it seems like enough egotism nowadays is more important than talent. Heck, Charlie Crowe can out-Satch Satriani, and his day job was with Brooks & Dunn. Andy Timmons is a great guitarist, and his day job is as Olivia Newton-John's band leader.... :o

Brad Paisley's mostly-instrumental album "Play" is a killer - he'd be perfectly able to hold down a spot on the G3 tour if he decided to geek for teenage boys instead of making millions of dollars. Brent Mason (and pedal steel god Paul Franklin) could handily drop into a New York jazz club and play bebop till the sun came up, if they weren't so busy playing on all those hit records... one of these days I oughta post a pedal steel pornstravaganza... extravanography? Right....

John Jorgensen has made a nice home with Elton John's band.  It's ironic too that 2 of the 3 Hellecasters, when it came time for a signature model, it was a Strat.  Also, 2 of the 3 Hellecasters in the video are playing G&Ls.  Don't know if that makes it more Fender or less Fender but the "L" does stand for Leo.
