Talk about fast service

Spike is a jerk. Everytime I talk to the guy, he is taking money from me. Really starting make me angry.

(Can't wait to talk to him again, though.)   :blob7:
I'm with you. That punk practically reached into my wallet today and pulled out a big chunk of change. What gives him the right?

Yeah, I've never found the staff at Warmoth to be anything but top notch when I was placing my orders. We walked through every part and they seemed glad to help.

Just to update, I got an email back from Matt this morning, answering my questions fully. Still no wood for my body though, but we can't hold that against him!

Further update: I don't know why but the service for me personally seems really inconsistent. I can ask a question, and get a response in 1-2 days (slow but tolerable), and other times I've waited 5 full days for a response? WTF? Isn't that what sales do? Respond to enquiries? Frustrating.

Not sure what youre doing, but when I call, I get someone right away.  When I email them, I get a response within 1 business day.

I'm in Australia so calling not really an option. But yeah, I don't get it either, but it pisses me off. I've basically never got a reply in under 1 business day, even including the time zones.

Well, Cletus, the problem is that we live in an internet world now. I feel your pain, brother. In today's world we want everything NOW. You need an answer for a question? Google will have it for you in a matter of seconds. Need to find that elusive piece of kit? Guess what? Google is there again with an answer. Text messaging back and forth within minutes, Skype calling around the planet etc... We're spoiled. As little as 20 years ago things like this were unheard of. If you mailed Warmoth with a question it was writing it down on a piece of paper and sending it via airmail and you'd be lucky to get a reply within a month. No we bitch if we don't have an answer in 2 or 3 days. Again, I'm not against you, just pointing it out.

I get you mully, but the net etc- this stuff is a godsend for sales people, so I'm baffled why any sales people would look a gift horse in the mouth? It doesn't take much effort to answer a customer with the tools available. Call me disappointed in them, because fom what I can see they run really professionally bar this stuff, in my experience only I will point out to be fair.

Custom Tele Build
ordered on the 4th of October
Due here on the 5th of November
That is 4 and 1/2 weeks,
almost 2 weeks faster than promised

way to go Warmoth

Fair enough on the sales call but you gotta remember one small detail about Warmoth, at least as far as I was told, the guys that take your mail, phone etc... are the same guys busting their chops in the shop building guitar parts. That's why when you ask a question you're not stuck with some nimrod that doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. These guys have lots of work besides just taking care of mail and phone calls. That's the way I understood it to be there. If that is in fact the case then they deserve a little leeway in their response time.

My Tele build started on the 12th of October and its scheduled to be shipped by the second or third week of November.  Also 4.5 weeks.

I am curious to know what the timetable consists of having never actually 'built' a guitar body before (just assembled).  How long for the cutting, shaping, attaching the top to the back, etc...

Actually, the sales reps only do sales.  They are all long time musicians and have built (and continue to build) their own instruments.  You'll find most of them in the trenches gigging most weekends as well.  They've been doing this for a long time and have a lot of experience.

Please be aware the sales staff do not work evenings or weekends.  The sales staff easily receive 100+ emails a day plus phone calls.  Factor in there are hundreds of orders being processed at any given point and those existing orders often have followup questions.  (How often do you all call or email asking for status updates???)  There's no shortage of people wanting answers.  If you've asked lots of detailed questions, it may take some time to respond.  Likewise, if you've already sent 50+ emails in the past week and you still don't know if you want to build a guitar or bass, it may take a bit to respond.

Here are a few tips to getting the best email answers:
- Remember basic punctuation, spelling and proper grammar.  Reading your email should not require a universal translator.
- Remember the sales staff receive and respond to hundreds of customers.  They may not recall your email from 6 months ago.  If there is previous correspondance, it is good to include it.
- If you have a question about an order or previous order, it helps to include your name. fuzzybunnyslippers@yahoo.com doesn't tell us who you are.
