I put in my order with Spike on Sep. 30th. I just opened my e-mail & found the UPS e-mail notifying me that my package has been shipped.  :hello2:

That's 26 days. A new record!!!!

A this was a total from scratch custom job with all exotic woods. WOW!!!!

A few more days & my tele will be here.

Time to break out the sand paper & get ready to do some heavy duty contouring.  :blob7:
 
Just don't ask for advice, or for something they don't have in stock. I found him really unhelpful unfortunately. I had taken the, quite sensible, advice of several people here to email them to ask questions regarding wood availability, etc and got blown off essentially (and that's not as fun as it sounds).

That's hard to believe. Spike has been BEYOND helpful to me, even suggesting things I didn't think of that made my builds so much better. He knows his stuff AND he seems to enjoy his job, which is a rare now a days.

As cool as everyone at Warmoth has been to me, Spike is my go to guy with any questions, help, advice & ordering.
 
He basically said "email back in two months" (regarding the lack of Black Korina) and ignored my other questions entirely. I dunno, maybe he thought I was tyrekicking? Suffice to say I'm not, indeed I'm happy to spend more than most as cost isn't really an issue, but I want to get exactly what I'm after, with appropriate advice from the people (Warmoth) who know best what works. I didn't think it was too much to ask. Especially as Warmoth are clearly professionals in every other respect that I can see. Hey, it was probably just bad day, so I don't want to be harsh.

Edit: I've just seen the other posts, I'll put it down to a busy/bad weather/hungover day, and hope that it works out a little better next time.

It could've been a bad day.

Spike has always gone the distance for me on every build, going so far as asking the guys in the back to locate super scary AAAAA flame maple for me, when none was showing on the website.

Spike isn't just a man, he is THE man.  :headbang1:

Per the 2 months thing, it sounds somewhat reasonable. They probably don't update the stock every week  :icon_thumright:
 
just talked to spike today on the phone. really helpful! he's always been pretty to the point though, in email or on the phone. i could see that coming off as a little rude, but i think he's just a busy guy trying to make things happen. dan has been my go to guy with emails. really helpful, and quick with replies! i think i literally emailed him once a day for a month or more before making my first order.
 
Spike is a jerk. Everytime I talk to the guy, he is taking money from me. Really starting make me angry.

(Can't wait to talk to him again, though.)  :blob7:
 
OK you guys, I'm convinced. Unfortunately, that also means I'm a sensitive whingeing twat, I'll have to do something about that.  :icon_jokercolor: Sorry for bad-mouthing you spike!
 
It was delivered today, thanks to the fine folks at UPS.

Time to break out the sand paper & do some serious contouring.

Malagasy Rosewood. I saw it on the site & I HAD to get it.

This project actually got kick started early because of that fingerboard. I was afraid it would be gone before I started my build in January.
