I have done two warmoth jazz basses (should not have sold either of them!)  and have one on the way.  I did epoxy grain fill, Mohawk sanding sealer/aerosol and Mohawk Satin aerosol Lacquer.  came out well.  waited a week then fine sanded and buffed with rubbing compound.

Any thing else i should do different?  i.e; is there a light dye that would make the grain pop more?  different product? etc...

thank you,
Harry

sounds like I am doing everything right.  might do the "tea stain" trick and thats about it.

I concur with your agreeing with your own approach.  If it's workin', why screw with it?

Ah "tea stain"...

I'm assuming you saw the Tele I did with it. If so go steady with it as it can look as not much is happening when first applied.

If you didn't see it there is a thread with lots of pics of the build. If needed I'll post the link.

post a pick.

With what you have done you may be past accenting the grain.  May have wanted to add some tinted grain fill.

yes, it was a tele with the tea stain to bring out the grain.  although I believe at the end of the thread you mentioned that just using a anhaline brown dye would have worked quicker and easier.  thanks

Yes a dye or stain would be quicker, but I don't think easier. I don't recall mentioning a specific dye type or colour.

But it just goes to show, there isn't necessarily a right or wrong way to do these things within reason, there are different approaches.
