Surgery - UPDATED on September 28th

a problem with the papers from the health care plan (no idea how you call it) and it'll be post-pone a little...

We call it "normal"

:dontknow:

I meaned, this is plan that you pay monthly a small money and when you need to go to doctor or exames, surgeries, etc, it pay everything for you...

We call that "dreaming"

We get to pay big money monthly, then go to the doctor and pay even more to get treatment.

I said a little different from normal, usually you have problems with expensive things...

That, dear friend, is correct, because I'm one of the cheapest SOB's on the planet! :toothy12:

I just had some surgery a week ago, without getting to graphically descriptive, it's what a lot of 50 year plus guys go through,

Lets just say I can pee like a 13 year old boy again, except I have great accuracy. Anyone afraid of this, I'll just say it was no big deal, the 3 woman team that did me we're experts, and do these all the time.

Nonsense, Good luck buddy

Hey guys! Thank you all for the support! I've been a little stressed and it was very appreciated!

But, there was a problem with the papers from the health care plan (no idea how you call it) and it'll be post-pone a little... Tomorrow I'll know when it will happen!
Thank you all :D

youre looking for the word insurance. and well it's not cheap especially in the long run but is alot easier to pay for than surgery that's for sure.

good luck! sometimes surgery doesn't get good results but if you need it you need it. never get surgery for pain that you can live with but you "think" it could be better, many people i know have bigger problems with pain after surgery due to scar tissue.

Ohhhh, It's gonna get real cheap here in the good ol' USA!  Come on down, man- never been a better time to immigrate haha.

Another disease of civilization...... glad it turned out ok.

Beside I've no idea what kind of problem is, I'm glad it turned ok too... surgery on that place isn't really "simple" in my point of view :laughing7:

Fernando, for us that do this stuff on a day to day basis, some things are simple.  To me, a hernia is simple, whereas a Whipple is complex.  To most shoulder Orthopedists, your operation is simple, as well.  I hope that makes you feel better.

So, what's the deal, man. When do you go under the knife? Shoulder surgeries aren't so bad. And from what I've heard Brazil has some fantastic surgeons. You'll be fine.

Thank you all for the kind words! :D

I'm trying not to think a lot about it... but lets see... The doctor who will make the surgery is very good, on one of the best hospital to sport here in Brazil, think it'll be alright!

Hey PT, the MRI says that I've a cut "from 9 to 2 hours" on the labrum... Ain't understand a lot, but doesn't sound much good :laughing7: Makes me think half of the thing is cutted :sad1:
Sorry I've been gone. The 9-2 o'clock reference means the cartilage (labrum) is torn from a position like on a clock. In other words if you looked at the cartilage as a circle, pretend the circle is a clock. You should do great. What city are you in? I know many orthopedic Radiologists that are good friends in Porto Alegre and Victoria that could help you out. Just email me.

I'm in São Paulo, very away from these cities... The doctor goint to do the surgery is very good, Rogerio Olivi, he made the same surgery on Mari, the tall blonde from brazillian volley team... Can't say the same from the doc's secretary... ¬¬

Surgery will be next 30th...

Let me ask my friends and get back to you. You sound like you are in good hands and the arthroscopy is very fast nowadays. Anybody that operated on her has to be good!

Sounds like you are getting the best surgeon in Fernando. Surgery due 30 April? Glad you will get it over and done with, and can then concentrate on recovery and rehabilitation.

I've read about people having the wrong limb amputated, actually.
