Surgery - UPDATED on September 28th

Thanks for the kind words guy! This is the only thing I think is "Ok" on my job, the health care plan I pay is half good, but I pay a smal percentage per month and if I need a surgery, they pay all the expenses... It's freaking expensive on a good hospital and I'm doing on one of the best of the country...

This let me really down yesterday, but I won't give up! I had gave up Rugby, but now I think I shall go back playing it and shall my body how he is supposed to work!!!
I always did Physical Therapy like it was the last day on Earth and will keep that! the only way to get it fixed 100% (or close to it)

:D

I'm so sad to hear you have to go for more surgery, Nando. You sounded like the physical therapy was painful but doing good, so I am surprised there's been a problem now.

You go to hospital on 22nd? Is it day surgery or do you have to stay in for more than the one day? Or is it just the MRI work?

I also have a hospital stay on 27th, but it's only a day surgery thing. In my case it's a procedure under full anaesthetic to find out what's wrong with the 'plumbing'.   :help: Worse case scenario is cancer and that floored me when the specialist mentioned it. Have had to do pre surgery pathology, which must have been a sadist's idea of fun.

Like you I have health cover, but it is still going to cost me whatever the anaesthesticist charges above the scheduled rate and what the hospital charges above the scheduled theatre fee. The health fund will cover the scheduled fee but often the charges are above that (the scheduled fee is set by the Govt. for each medical procedure and consultation  there is.)

I hope you are feeling some relief from the fibrosis  soon.  :icon_thumright:

Hey Pete! Thanks for the help mate!!!
22th is when I'll make the MRI, 28th is when I get the result of it and go to the doctor see what has on it...

I believe if surgery is needed will be like the first one: I didn't even sleep on the hospital and got off it walking :)
Yes, the Physical T. was painfull but the people there said I was doing good...

Sorry to listen about your problem and really hope it's not a cancer! This thing is nasty!!!! Hope you get better soon, mate!

Bad news... Got today the MRI and went to the doctor... Seems like I have the same lesion again... I was to knocked out to understand if it was a new one or if something got loosy... I'm going to another doctor on Thursday and will ask what seems like...

Ah Nando that sux mate. I know you put a lot of effort into your rehabilitation of the injury. Do you have to go through the same thing again?

Yes, seems like I'll have to go through it all again... Tomorrow I'll have a 2nd opinion, lets see what happens...

Keep in mind that a second opinion isn't always a better opinion, it's just another one, and it's still an opinion. Back when I had my accident, it was the opinion of the primary care physician that I'd never walk again, and there was nothing that could be done. The second opinion was that I could walk again, but I'd probably need electroshock therapy. My opinion was that that was just nuts. I already couldn't remember half my life; I wasn't going to let them burn up what was left of my brain, even if it meant I could walk again.

Turns out they were both wrong. I can walk and talk, and it didn't take electroshock therapy to facilitate it. I'm just too stupid to know when I can't do something, so I go ahead and do it <grin>

I'm going on 2 of the best hospital of the whole country... If they speak something different, I'll think before I do anything... But the MRI is pretty much showing the lesion... it's a ligament rupture, not exactly rocket science... 3 months to start using the arm to something usefull as cut a steak, but...

Attitude is half the battle and you have a good one going into this. You'll do well!
