Is there any custom option(s) to allow me to get a Strat neck w modern or vintage/modern Construction and also compound radius starting at 7.25"?

If it’s off-menu I’d give them a call to see if they can do it. My guess is that a custom radius would require too much CNC programming to be feasible, but that’s just a guess. Good luck!

Last time I asked (3 months ago) they wouldn't do any custom radiuses (radii?), other than the ones listed.
I asked for a 12" - 14" compound.

I couldn't go low enough without bends choking out at 7.25" or even 7.25" - 9.5" compound.
I liked the feel of those, but eventually sold them as the action had to be just too high for my liking.

Starting at 12" straight, action can be set reasonably low without notes fretting out. (As always, YMMV)

Warmoth will not do custom compound radii. We will only do those offered on the website.

And straight 12" FTW.
Second place goes to 9-1/2" - 14".

Friends don't let friends get 7-1/4".

Hey Aaron,

I get you. I have never considered a 7.25" radiused neck in the past, but got intrigued recently when i actually tried one for the first time. Actually, not just one, but two different Fender strat models that each had a 7.25" radius fretboard. I was sort of shocked that i was NOT experiencing any of the often reported difficulties like fretting out on bends. But even more importantly, that 7.25" radius seemed to resolve the discomfort i normally feel playing the lower, wider fets on necks with 9.5" radius and 25.5" scale lengths. Because of that, I tend to prefer necks with shorter scales. So this got me thinking that maybe 7.25" radius is the thing that will allow me actually own and play guitars w 25.5" scale lengths.

[Edit: for this reason, can you and I still be friends? LOL]

I’m not a fan of 7.25 on higher frets. At least not the recent ones (a very pretty KWS Strat) I’ve played. Then again I haven’t set them up for me. That Tele with a 7.25-9.5 worked great set up as is.

Bear in mind that a compound radius is conical and the strings at the bridge will be even flatter than the radius listed for the neck. Shouldn’t be a problem with any adjustable saddles, fixed saddles might need slotted. On my B16 Tele, which has a 9.25”-12”, I have a custom Serpentune brass block bridge that has a 13.25” radius. It would be flatter if it were 7.25”-12”, because cones.
