Have any of you ever considered placing the forward strap pin on the rear of the upper horn?  I don't like the lack of real estate on the Soloist's upper horn!  I've read that placing a pin on the rear of the body there could potentially cause "face dive."  Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?

Cheers

I'm thinking face dive is only an issue if the button is on the heel.

Yah, I'm thinking anything below the center of gravity, perhaps.  Can we say we've coined, "face dive" here today??

I've been playing with it on the back of the upper horn for 22 years!
No dive.

The Soloist isn't a pointy guitar,

Oh, sorry you said Peanut, not pedant gallery, Carry on.

Although to be more helpful, I'd just stick it at the end of the horn, this is how I've done my dinky P bass for example

I have one guitar with the button at position 5, works good.  Though I'm wondering how it would be using a screw on the back plate.  Would it stress the neck?  Would it be a problem when putting it in the case?  I use dunlop strap locks which stick out pretty far.  Anyone have experience with that?

Probably stress the case more than the guitar with the weight of the guitar focused on one point like that. But, depending on the case design you may have clearance under there.
