*** STOLEN MUSIC EQUIPMENT *** STOLEN MUSIC EQUIPMENT ***

F***.

F***ing f***tarded f***knuckle thieves.

It's one thing to steal a loaf of bread cuz you're hungry...

Good luck.  Insured?

Oh, man! I am just sick for you! I'll keep my eyes open. You never know when some "special" deal is going to show up, and a little follow-thru can get things returned to their rightful owner. A buddy of mine got a Mesa Boogie Mark IV returned years after he lost it, and he'd even moved to another state. Not long after that, I happened across an old Carvin combo in a flight case for a suspiciously low price, so before I bought it I checked with the local law enforcement. Wasn't on any hot sheets, but they were surprisingly grateful that I'd even checked. Not many people do.

The scale of the thing, hitting 21 units, and coming in from the adjoining side imples that the joint was cased or it was an inside job.  In other words, someone who worked there knew what was in it and had the time to hit 21 units.  Casing the joint sounds like a no-brainer for a person who isn't a criminal pondering doing criminal things, but most criminals aren't smart enough to do that.  Of course thieves never get market value for hot merch, so I wouln't worry one bit if the criminal is getting a fair price.

DBU, if the place didn't have insurance for the tenant's stuff, there is a small chance it may be covered under your homeowner's or renter's insurance, even though the stuff wasn't in your home.  While renting an apartment in college 3 hours away from home, my possesions were still covered under my parents' policy.  There was enough taken, some of it will probably turn up somewhere.

I'm headed down to my storage unit during lunch to check on my lovelies.

When my LP was stolen FROM A CHURCH FFS, I got the same BS from pawn shops that they were "required" to run all Gibson/Fender/etc guitars, but I found out from the girlfriend of one of teh employees of the pawn shop 2 BLOCKS AWAY from the church that my guitar had come through there just hours after I came through with a flyer.  The guy never reported it and sold it on the side.  She was bragging to a random guy in a bar who happened to be the guy who they helped steal from.  One wonders why he's had such bad luck recently.

Dude, that F'ng sucks.  Hopefully with you getting the word out across the world wide web you'll get them back.  In this day and age, pretty much everything ends up on CL or ebay, so with the word out we'll all be keeping an eye out for you.

Do you know the pros around NO? I mean, I could ask Dave Easley, Dave Renson etc. to keep an eye out, but if you're already working the New Orleans band circuit it's be a duplicate.

I know some people, but it never hurts to have more, spread the word.

look through www.craiglook.com

it's a national search engine for Craigslist. I mainly use it for finding deals on gear I normally wouldn't find, but I think it could be helpful in this situation, too.

Nice guitar collection. 21 units broken into does sound like an inside job. I hope the police are investigating that too. I hope you get all of your guitars, etc. back in the same condition...

Dude, this is bummin' me big time. I wish there was some way I could help out. I do translating for the guys from Mesa Boogie when they come to Japan. I know if you contact them directly they can give you every little detail about that amp head. Dude, this sucks big time. Matter of fact, I'm going to send a message to them too.

Im so sorry  :-\

Can you like hire a private investigator or something, at least to get your dads guitar back? I would donate some money to help you out. This is breaking my heart.

I really appreciate everyone's help so far. The local law enforcement is running leads and hopefully they find my stuff. Just keep your eyes and ears open.

It kind of amazes me that people actually steal guitars... I mean, they most likely will never get what the guitar is actually worth unless they are specialists in the subject (going to a luthier would get you somewhere, but asking what 8 guitars you know nothing about is worth is kind of suspicious) and due to the personal nature of guitars they are fairly trackable. It sounds like such a troublesome thing to sell and that's what theft is all about, quick money. Guitars isn't quick money  :tard:

It sounds to me like they just took anything that looked like it had value. But by stealing those highly identifiable guitars, they are putting themselves at risk for being caught. (actually, by stealing anything they are putting themselves at risk for being caught)

Death by Uberschall, don't read this!

Personally, I would see the guitars winding up in a pawn shop, and whoever stole them probably will make $100-$300 a piece, not knowing the difference between a PRS and a FirstAct. I hate to say this, because I highly respect Uberschall, but I know how this shitee goes most of the time.

I have lots of stuff in the works. The police departments here have already uploaded the pics and descriptions in their systems. By Louisiana law, any and everything taken in by a pawn shop must be reported to the police departments and they must sit on the items for 30 days. I'll be hitting all the pawn shops this week with the same information so thta if it shows up they can grab and hold onto to it.

From reading what people are posting here, there's a pretty low chance that the pawnshops are actually doing this.
At least that custom Mesa head or the guitar with the Kahler is easily identifiable. Of cause it could be sold off to Asia or Europe. All this stuff could be in Mexico or somewhere in the Carribbean by now.

Have you heard what the owners of the other 20 units lost?

Every time I hear of someone getting stuff stolen, I decide that besides my Warmoth(s) I will never get any expensive bass amp or be tied down to one amp sound or something like that.
