I hope you get your stuff back. Were you the only person robbed? If you were, that's a real shit-storm of conspiracy.

It kind of amazes me that people actually steal guitars... I mean, they most likely will never get what the guitar is actually worth unless they are specialists in the subject (going to a luthier would get you somewhere, but asking what 8 guitars you know nothing about is worth is kind of suspicious) and due to the personal nature of guitars they are fairly trackable. It sounds like such a troublesome thing to sell and that's what theft is all about, quick money. Guitars isn't quick money  :tard:

It sounds to me like they just took anything that looked like it had value. But by stealing those highly identifiable guitars, they are putting themselves at risk for being caught. (actually, by stealing anything they are putting themselves at risk for being caught)

Death by Uberschall, don't read this!

Personally, I would see the guitars winding up in a pawn shop, and whoever stole them probably will make $100-$300 a piece, not knowing the difference between a PRS and a FirstAct. I hate to say this, because I highly respect Uberschall, but I know how this shit goes most of the time.

I have lots of stuff in the works. The police departments here have already uploaded the pics and descriptions in their systems. By Louisiana law, any and everything taken in by a pawn shop must be reported to the police departments and they must sit on the items for 30 days. I'll be hitting all the pawn shops this week with the same information so thta if it shows up they can grab and hold onto to it.

Let me just say, I have high hopes for you. It's one thing to have a few guitars stolen, but once you get into sentimental value, that's when it REALLY stings...

Best thing for the perps is that I don't find them before the police do.  :evil4:

You know, wood chippers really don't leave enough of a body behind to be convicted with. And I'm not talking about the guitar...  :evil4:

i think it's the opposite. most pawn shops really know their stuff since they're trying to squeeze every penny possible out of their sales. they're also usually pretty vigilant since dealing in stolen goods will get them nothing. hopefully, anyway :-\

I get what you mean, but alot of pawn shops in my location will try to low ball you when they buy. If that means "forgetting" to tell you that your guitar is a "57 Les Paul in prime condition, so be it... More money for them.

I agree..
A lot of pawn shops even have a list of Phone numbers to call whenever an fender, gibson or whatever american made guitar comes in... that is why you mainly see squiers, epiphones and other chinese crap in their racks. if you are lucky maybe a MIM fender..

I actually gave up looking for good deals on american guitars in pawn stores.. luckily I have a fetish for mid 80s to early 90s Japanese guitars... :) some of these are too obscure to be collectible (By the regular collector)

I'm really sorry to hear about this.  I seriously feel for you.

As a side note, it would be nice if Warmoth used some kind of unique serial number on each body and neck..  I know there is no substantial resale value for a warmoth guitar but if ever something were stolen, it would be useful as proof to be able to identify the parts (unique finishes aside).  Could be printed in the control cavity or somewhere else out of sight.

Hope you get your gear back!

Hard to tell if it's "unfortunate" or not, but if they hit 21 units in a storage space, at least they probably weren't targeting you. I say "hard to tell if it's unfortunate or not" as they would probably be as likely to drop the '57 Special at a pawn shop/eBay/Craigslist for a few hundred bucks rather than what's it's worth. We can all monitor craigslist/eBay, were I you I would contact every shop in the US that handles vintage axes on the off chance they figure out what they have in the '57...

My Blood is boiling !    You have my sympathies DbU,  I'm still looking for the special individual who stole my first Warmoth.  I've even got the repairs saved up for when I scuff it up a bit breaking the bastards kneecaps.

Keep checking, All the pawnshops, have a photocopy of your police report at every one so that they can hold on to it for you if they see it with cause.  And watch Ebay and kijiji like a shark.

I'll be looking for you too.
