Starcaster question

Hi all,

I assume the controls of a Starcaster is similar to that of Les Paul, with two sets of volume/tone knobs for each pickup and a toggle selector.  However, I noticed that some have a fifth knob.  I could not find much info and any enlightenment is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

For those that had a fifth knob it was a master volume.

More information on the history of the Starcaster is available at this link.

Is the Mooncaster the same as a StarCaster dimensionally?  The StarCaster's body looks smaller, where the MoonCaster looks a little fuller, more proportional in the pics I've seen.

I kinda asked the question with building a Mooncaster in mind.  I have some parts for a Les Paul build I thought could be used on a Mooncaster.

Other way around. Warmoth's Mooncaster is very fractionally smaller than a 'real' Starcaster. What may be throwing you off is that Starcasters usually have Wide Range humbuckers, which are a lot bigger than the common humbuckers that Mooncasters are routed for. The bigger pickups could be making the body look smaller in comparison for you.
