spruce top on mahogany

some of the hamer newport models uses spruce top on mahogany.

my simon and patric acoustic has a spruce top and it rings like a bell.

but is spruce really used as a top in electric guitars?

is hamer using spruce for better projection of sound from a small semi-hollow?

any views on using it as a top for a thinline tele?

I really don't mean to be rude.  But could you condense your questions into one thread, instead of making 4 or 5 different ones for every question?

I agree, 1 thread about tele thinline would suffice. I believe that you are way over-thinking this process. Just order up a body with what ever woods you like to look at. Put what ever finish on it that you want. Put as many f-holes in it as you want.

Spruce is used on electrics, but it is not really common. Yes, it has great acoustic properties and looks great. Should be fine for Thinline.
