Moving this discussion to work in progress.

I did some not-so-spring cleaning a few weeks ago.  I have so many extra parts I needed to do something about it.  Some will be kept, others will be given away (be on the look out for that), and others will become a guitar.

I have enough parts but screw together a guitar, including a great looking canary Warmoth neck with GOLD frets.  The only part I need is a body.  Since it is a balmy 9 degrees here in Philadelphia I did not want to have to paint.  I also blew most of my extra cash on my sons mooncaster bass build .  So....lets see what GuitarFetish has....

BINGO!    I scored a B Stock finished XGP hardtail strat.  $50 bucks.  Poplar finished in Metallic purple!  So excited.  It arrived today so I wanted to post some pics.  It is a B Stock and has a tiny blem on the back.  It is so small it was hard to photograph.  I am between two pick guards.  I have a white and a black one...but since we are going purple, BAM I splurged $13 and got a purple pearled on eBay.  I have another one coming but not sure I will use it.

Enjoy...BTW...the Warmoth neck was a PERFECT fit for the XGP pocket.  Even the bolts lined up.

That pickguard is just the right shade for that body. Nice choice. It'll be a cool guitar when done.

So I did order a nut.  I found a small piece of Purple Heart I can cut and use.  It will be a cool little purple racing stripe accent on the neck. :guitarplayer2:

Finally together.  It fit really well together mixing the GFS XGP body and Warmoth neck.  I did end up using a Stew Mac .25 neck shim for proper action.  The bridge saddles are right in the sweet spot now.  Without it they would have been completely bottomed out.  Maybe the neck pocket was a bit too deep.  Honestly I did not measure it.

The gold foils play real nice.  Both of the noise canceling positions sound great.  I will try to post some sound clips.

I am most happy with the knobs.  I found this guy on eBay who will make ANY color combo.  JAT Custom Guitar Parts.  He is also on Reverb.  We had a text dialogue on what I wanted and three days later I had the knobs.  He must have made them that evening.  $19 for three.  Not bad for custom work.

I also ended up using some left over purple heart and bone nut to replace the floyd shelf on the neck.

I had lots of requests on how these GFS gold foils sound.
Please excuse my several flubs...I am working on a new tune and decided to record a bit.

Tones recorded by my Samsung Galaxy.  Orange TH30 with 2x12 cab
