Somebody is getting a new guitar this Friday,

My Warmoth to Gibson ratio is getting way out of whack so I need to add some Gibson’s to the stable. This one is a 2009.

What kind? Congratulations man! Les Paul, SG? Explorer? (You should get a Moderne! If you can find one.)

I'm guessing an LP as I don't strike Tonar as a Reverse Flying V kinda guy!  :laughing7:

For your sake & everyone else's here ...........  PLEASE DON'T BE A  2009 GIBSON DARKFIRE  :sad1:

I had one of those for 20 months, I traded it in recently for, a RME 400 & a SG 61' Reissue + other bits.

My Warmoth #1 build, Strat 'The Cigar' with internal GK-3 replaced the Dark Fire ...... Dose that tell you anything !!  :laughing7:

I still have my ol' trusty 2007 LP Standard .... thats a keeper for sure  :icon_thumright:

But I'm going in the opposite direction to you, as I'll end up with more Warmoth brand  :icon_biggrin: than Gibson or Fender

Please tell me it's not a DarkFire so I can sleep tonight ......

I had an opportunity to buy one of those several years back for $800.00 but it was not on my wish list. I should have bought it as an investment.

Yes the Reverse Flying V is not destined to land at my house but I sure would love a Korina V.

I own a 59 ES350T and a really nice 1992 Les Paul Premium Plus Classic and I need the following to round out my NEEDS.  :icon_tongue:
Flying V
ES5
54 Les Paul
ES335
J200
Firebird

Which one will it be; pictures on Friday.   :guitaristgif:

This thread needs a poll!  I'm sensing Firebird, since there've been a lot of cool Firebird builds on these here forums of late to remind you of your needs.  :evil4:

There are, or were a few weeks ago and they've been there a while, two absolutely stunning BKV's in the showcase.

Are you going to have it professionally finished? :)

Yes by the fine boys and girls in the Gibson Custom shop. Although I will probably refinish it to get a more accurate vintage look than Gibson is doing these days. It depends on the feel of the neck, if it is not real close to the feel of a certain vintage guitar I have in mind I might have to re-profile it and do a re-fin.

I'm guessing its a modern version of the '54 Les Paul.  Given the above choices, can't go wrong with any of those guitars you listed.  Can't wait to see what you end up with.

Can't wait to see it. I want a Moderne myself, but they're expensive and, a downside, have a lot of string trees. I guess I'm not much of an LP guy. Love those ES335s and SGs, though.

wouldn't a reverse flying v just look like a regular flying v?  even with a reverse headstock?

ooooh. i was picturing it mirrored to look exactly the same R vs L.

where's my eye bleach?

Reverse V.

Moderne: http://guitarcollecting.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/moderne.jpg

Reverse V is ugly. Moderne is pretty cool if you stick a Mastery Bridge on it.

You're in Michigan, right? I wonder if the one you passed up was the one my buddy bought? Seems to me that's about what he paid for it. Thing was mint, with a low serial number. Supposedly, the thing's worth about $7K now, although he has some strange ideas about what a lot of his stuff would sell for. But, according to him, Gibson was the one who offered that price. Apparently, they wanted to put it in their museum.

No I'm in California, my son just graduated for art school in Michigan.

I think for 7K he should sell and buy a real vintage piece.
