Some fun with the "All Time Greatest Front Man Ever"

Sorry to hijack the thread, but you had to start it...

Fill in the blank:

If there were a God or Justice in the Universe, ______________ would have lived and David Lee Roth would have died of a cocaine OD in 1980.

+1 Diamond Dave,    Also Stevie Tyler, Freddy Mercury,  Paul Rogers, Joe Elliot

A serious case could actually be made for Keith Moon of the "Who" any of you ever watch that madman drum? incredible.

Don't anyone dare say Robert Plant, Jimmy was the front man in My opinion

He didn't die of coke OD (alky-hol instead), but I'd insert "Bon Scott" in that blank line.

Blank is not limited to those OD'ing on coke; any cause of death is fine, even natural causes

Iggy Pop has tried to fry himself more times than most and still keeps rockin'. Now THAT'S a front man.

There's a radio station in Dallas that took those pieces of audio and inserted them in other songs to make it sound like Dave was doing duets with The Carpenters, Anne Murray, and Elton John.

I can only imagine if VH1 had been recorded in the days of protools.  The assistant engineer would be editing and labeling stems of "yeah #1"  "Oh yeahhhhh #2" for hours on end.

Diamond Dave rules. :-)

way cool...still driving my wife nut's with it....it's posted in my Favorites Forever!

and Dave is my vote for greatest Fromt man ever......

Keith Moon was a wild drummer with some serious ability. But for me he falls into the same category as most of the late sixties and early seventies drummers by over playing everything instead of just keeping a solid groove. Maybe it was the "in thing" at the time, but it does get old quickly. I have much more respect for John Bohnam for that reason.

I think he was still keeping a solid groove.. and to me, the overplaying was kind of part of the "the Who" sound.. oh and he was great to watch playing!

I enjoy watching and listening to Keith Moon, personally. I was thinking about Pinball Wizard and Baba O'Reiley earlier today.

Remember a member that had Moon as his avatar?  :laughing7:

Based on contribution, among other things, I'd have to fill the blank with Hendrix.  But I will say that losing Roth would have been a tragedy.  I mean... who else could have slapped Van Hagar with something like Eat'em and Smile.

Eat em and Smile and Skyscraper are just as good as any Classic VH album!!!

oh and great tone and note choice! :)
