Some completed projects from the last few months...

New GOTM rules:
Month 1) Owner Finished
Month 2) Professionally Finished
Month 3) Great Ape vs Hendrix vs Tonar

Outstanding stuff! I keep scrolling back and forth between the beadwork and the turquoise veins. The way you tied the knobs into the themes really takes your eye on a full tour. Truly beautiful guitars.

I was just thinking the other day that Great Ape had not posted any guitars lately and wondered if he had made anything or was on pause. And now kapow here they are  :icon_thumright:

Yes, I'm a sucker for "beadwork" and feathers. Outstanding!

Fantastic work, as usual. I miss the progress threads on these projects.

Very kewl Greg, but if you wanna impress me and you're using real wood, use real turquoise too....

So, Greg, on those two amber guitars, is that the electro-fractal thing you can do by running an electrical current across an electrolyte-soaked piece of wood?  Or a hand-drawn design?

Either way, all four of those axes are glorious, and a credit to the artist's skill and taste.

Everything is hand-drawn and then burned-in...Wood-burned, that is.

On those two curly-topped Teles, are those centerlines outlined/burned/painted, or inlays?

:laughing11:....All kidding aside, they are spectacular...

Kevin-Those ''beads'' are burned and painted...I thought it would be cool to create a body-to-neck
connection that took advantage of some of the fingerboard materials offered by Warmoth. BTW, both bodies are very light weight roasted maple, with a light wash of red dye...

I see. It's an attractive accent, really nice touch. I imagine all that roasted Maple and light weight coupled with a humbucker must make for a pretty spanky sound.
