I would be remiss if I did not plug this.

Haven't tried one yet, but they look interesting.  If I ever decide to buy/build a guitar with a vintage-style trem, I think I would buy and try one.

The same way a clean toilet is still a toilet, a good trem is still a trem.

They could stand to lose about 4 of those colors too.

But six of the colors are new!  Think of the designers, slaving away for months to come up with  new colors, just to have someone say, "meh, we didn't really need that many..."

That'd be cool if there were other hardware that matched it.  Schaller is the only one I know of, and it's just about impossible to get it.  I hope to God they didn't have designers slaving away for months to "design" new colors.

But seriously, it looks like a decent design.

I think he ought to get a symetrical guitar like a V and have the side dots and control routes on both sides.  If he changes his mind, he just rewires it to the other side and changes the nut.

Well I came to this with an open mind, then I saw the videos and lost a fair bit of respect. Some silly 'granny shredding' video, and a guy that isn't exactly showing me anything new. It's an interesting idea, but I think it needs a bit of development to really stand out as something that can't be achieved elsewhere. Each video ends with 'it's just the beginning'.... well .. what's the rest then ?

That's a pretty neat concept. They're kinda ugly, and I don't exactly see the need for a coloured trem, but I'd like to give one a try. However, I have to agree with Andy that they could use a little marketing help.

This is also a great idea:

Agwan, are you listening?  :laughing7:

Second.  I was going to get graphtech string saver saddles with my Xmas cash, but I might get one of these first.

They DEFINITELY need some marketing help.  Their PDF giving guitar setup tips doesn't even use photos of their product!

Those would be a dramatic improvement over a "vintage-style" bridge, but if you were starting from scratch, there's no reason to suffer a "vintage-style" bridge in the first place. The Boogie Rails are an improved design replacement part for people who are already suffering. On a new build, you'd use a Wilkinson/Gotoh/Hipshot two-point fulcrum bridge, or go hardtail if you didn't want/need vibrato. Or, if you have masochistic tendencies, there are always several varieties of Floyd-Rose available <grin>

I had to LOL at their pronunciation of "trumowlow"  :tard:  (sorry, neighbors from the chilly North)

Also, WTF, they can't give you a new trem block and saddles?  Or even mounting screws?  And don't get me started about not setting it up to back-bend at all...

...But for some reason I still kinda want one for my newly acquired Mexi Strat...

PRS's solution to this problem (which to me would be to use a 2-point trem, derp) is to use mounting screws that have a notch in the shaft so the bridge "floats" better, and also creates a positive stop against downward "twist" of the bridge which you get from the vintage design with wood screws with smooth shafts.
