Ok, so when I build my geetar, it will look like a Strat. I also want it to sound like a Strat. But having some Hum-bucker sound would be very much welcome as well. I am considering a couple options. First off, the Eric Clapton electronics seem to do a decent job of getting some more warm, HB tones out of his single coils. But as far as how this system works, I have no clue. it looks like some sort of microcomputer board thingie you put in the geetar, which scares me a little (not a digital man myself). Also, lots of peeps seem to like these hum-buckers that you can tap one coil out of and make into a single coil. How well do these work? (a.k.a. is it like a Prius where they combine a crap gas engine with a crap electric engine and get a car that is both electric and gas, but is crap at both?)

Seymour Duncan JB split in the bridge, SSL1 in the middle and Stagmag split in the neck.
