Anyone played through one of these amps?

Someone selling one in 'mint' condition on Craigslist for $400. I'm seeing a few that have sold for about $320 on eBay..but in much worse condition.

Any opinions?

IIRC they are an 80's amp, and they allowed you to swap t00bs out easily (hence the "convertible" part).

I have the speaker cabs (but never had the amp) - two 1X12s loaded with Celestion G-12K's.

That's about all I have off the top o' my head (and my overall rig).

Yeah, it seems like a pretty neat idea. But I e-mailed the seller asking when the last time he had the amp serviced and he never responded.

I wonder if he's trying to sell that with 20 year old tubes....

These were indeed from the 80's and had swappable preamp modules, not power tubes. Those modules are very hard to find these days, but I've known a couple guys who owned them and swore by them.
