Hey folks,

It looks like Warmoth will have a booth set up at the Seattle/Tacoma Guitar Show (www.seatacguitarshow.com) next month.  If you're in the PacNW, plan on coming out to see us.

What would you like to see at the booth and have a chance to get hands on?  Vintage Tele body, vintage Strat body, short scale bass?  Conversion necks?

I would say a selection of raw exotic necks for people to see and feel!!

they don't know what they are missing :)

I'd think a variety of neck shapes would be great, for the people there to try out fatbacks, wizards, roundbacks, etc.

I'd show some finished guitars. The quality will speak for itself and undoubtedly there will people who may not be familiar with them.

They can't do a finished guitar with all Warmoth parts that interchanges with a Fender.

However, it would be neat to see a few Warmoth necked Strats or Teles.  I'd take along a few pieces that show off the finish part of the shop; a figured LP maybe.  The unusual might attract more than the folks just seeing another Strat or Tele, so a doubleneck or the reverse Strat and some lefty stuff might be looked at.  Take some of the new shorter scale bass stuff and a Gecko.

The fact that you guys make and stock lefty stuff is one of your strong selling points.  I really think you should take at least one example of your left handed stuff.  We are tired of playing black strats, so the fact that we can get almost any Turtle product in a lefty version is awesome.

LP with a fender neck (just so it's not a complete Warmoth guitar and it's legal) set up with normalish Gibson hardware plugged into a marshall-ish amp to win over all the Gibson folks who think that a bolt-on LP can't sound good.  :dontknow: Let 'em hear it. Lol.

But maybe a little more seriously, lefty stuff, and the rarities. For sure one of the carved-top teles and maybe a hollow strat body or other stuff people can't normally get. And lots of exotic wood. Do the whole multicolored-neck display... like bring a Goncalo Alves, Rosewood, Purpleheart, and Bubuinga strat neck and set them all up in a row. That kinda color contrast will bring a bunch of people. It just looks good and it's one of those things that you naturally gravitate to. Lol.

I'm planning to go to this.  Any other folks in the PNW region want to meet up before or after to show off their Warmoth gear and maybe grab a beverage?

Coming up this weekend folks.

You should see a selection of the new products (ie. vintage Strat, Tele, 7/8 Tele, 32" Jbass) and an assortment of woods and neck back contours.  Come hang with a bunch of guitar nuts for a few hours!

Whoo hoo! That's just over an hour away for me!  I'll have to drag my kid along, but there's plenty of shiny things for her to see.  :toothy12:

If there's a Superwide neck present, I'd really like to check that out.  After playing with the LP '59 roundback neck on my current build, I'm thinking a Superwide/Fatback is the neck for me - if there's one present, and for sale, there's a pretty good chance I'd buy it on the spot.  Any discounts for ordering in person?  :icon_biggrin: :icon_jokercolor:

Sorry, no discounts in person.  It is difficult to sell products at these shows as necks and bodies still generally need modification.  While it would be cool to bring along a CNC and/or fret shop, it wouldn't be practical.  (But, wouldn't it be cool to watch your body being routed!!)

Getting stuff organized now.  Lots of cool new products to see!  It would be great to place faces with names from the forum.

ah, thats why my parts are on hold :D you guys wanna show off  2 of the most beautiful les pauls you guys ever made! Ah, now it makes sense :)

Allowing people to feel different neck profiles and radius's would be good. And taking examples of exotic wood would be interesting too.

I was supposed to go to Seattle yesterday but was able to rearrange my schedule so that I could go today and also attend the Seattle Tacoma Guitar Show.

The show was held inside a gymnasium sized room, in fact it was a gymnasium. Even though I got there early the place was packed. I saw the usual guitar show stuff.... The super overpriced vintage instrument, the beat up what the heck is that guitar, the that doesn't belong on that guitar but whatever, the hey I haven't seen one of those in forever, I forgot how cool those were or weren't, and boxes of miscellaneous parts and pieces.

There were some really nice instruments too being offered by custom builders. Really interesting ideas and concepts. There were also many very nice amps. I was somewhat limited with the amount of time I had so I had to focus mostly on the things I wanted to see and the folks I wanted to talk to.

In the middle, between half court and the top of the key was the Warmoth booth. Great location I think. Standing behind the tables were Rob and Eric obviously enjoying themselves. I wandered up to the table and began to fondle the necks hanging there. It was my first time handling some of these different exotic woods. I really liked the canary, and the goncalo alves. Both were beautiful and much lighter weight than expected. It was also nice to check out the different back contours.

On the table were many bodies. It was a real treat to pick them up and check them all out. It was really helpful for future builds. Eric proudly held up a few completely finished guitars. Not the least of which was his personal Gecko bass. That was really interesting to see in person. He was very proud of it and rightfully so. Eric then showed me the Bass VI which was really nice as well. It's gotta funky vibe and definitley makes you want one even if your not quite sure how to play it. Next he showed me a 7/8 pearl white tele. I liked this very much. Even though it was a smaller body it was not too small and it felt great! I would love to have one of these.

It was a real pleasure talking with Eric and Rob. The were very enthusiastic and friendly. It was nice to finally meet some of the people whom I have been sending money to.  :laughing7: It's good to know it's going to good people with great attitudes.

This show was fun to attend, especially since the last one I went to was such a bust.  I wish I had more time to spend there. It's just as well since my wife made me leave my wallet and truck title at home. I would have surely left with a VIP body and a that sweet all rosewood neck to go with it.

Wow.  I knew I felt tired.  Dang, I looked worse than I felt......

Ken, thanks for the pics!  It was a great event and a blast to meet our customers and forum members face to face!
