This is a tough color to shoot, but it's quite cool in person. My plans are to put in a black VS100 or Hipshot Trem, a set of Kiesel Lithium pickups I have, 1v/1t, 5-way switch, black hipshot locking tuners, and eventually I'll order a neck. I'm holding out to see if maybe they'll put some more exotic baritone necks out for the showcase.

I had an Ibanez RG570 in the early 90's in roadcrew yellow. I miss it. Not enough to have kept it, but it was fun when I don't recall dealing with locking tremolos.

:glasses9: indeed.

Black hardware and pickups, black ebony fingerboard and matching neon painted headstock? This guitar would take the eighties outside and beat the living crap out of them.

I am thinking maple or roasted maple, but a part of me is also thinking wenge/ebony or rosewood/rosewood. Will Warmoth paint just the headstock?

On a finished neck it's a standard $40/$50 option. I have seen one guitar on the forum with a painted headstock face on an otherwise unfinished neck, so they definitely can do it, but I suspect it wouldn't be cheap.

Roasted Maple would look pretty good. Wenge/Ebony also would make quite a striking guitar.

Thanks all, I think I've settled on a nice Wenge/Ebony neck combo. Now to await some funds to flow inward before I put in the order. Dangerous, are you still making neck plates?

You betcha I am.... :icon_thumright:

I ordered a neck today, it'll be quite the wait - I suppose I'll get some hardware in the meantime.

I went with Roasted Maple in hopes of getting one with some decent figuring, but either way it's a maple neck without the need for a finish (at least according to Warmoth's warranty).
