School me on dye finishes (and a website quirk)

Seems they're only available on figured maple. Why? Ash has prominent, high contrast grain. I would think that'd look amazing. No?

Could or would Warmoth use some of those colors as regular transparent finishes? Love the "jungle burst" for example. Nothing quite like that in the vanilla transparent finishes. Off menu perhaps? 🙏

Finally, how do the front and back options work? I notice when you pick a dye finish, a new "back color" drop-down appears and sometimes when you choose a back color that looks available, nothing happens. (Maybe that's a web design issue)

Dye is only a finish Warmoth does on figured maple. It’s just the way it is. Maple takes dye in a unique way that highlights grain. I’m not sure that swamp ash would take dye in a manner that looks the way we would expect.

Instead of Jungle Burst, look at Dragon Burst. They both have yellow bursting to green, the dye is just more vibrant on maple.

This video might explain more about the way back finishes wrap around vs clean lines.

Oh yeah, the website is definitely wonky. There are options that should be available but aren’t and the opposite as well. Like on every dye there should be black clean line, clear and a similar burst over available. But one of them (like purple dye) has sunset orange as an option. Probably not intentional… However If you have an idea, I’d call in to see if they can do it.

I noticed that mainly occurs on the mobile version of the builder. On a desktop PC it is a lot more clear to see which back finishes are available. It seems like mobile version has a flaw in the filtering of available options.
