I got my Warmoth neck with a simple gloss, but find its a biiiiiit too "sticky" for my liking. I was going to simply sand the back down a bit with some Scotch Brite (400? 800 grit?).
However, my neck has an Ebony fingerboard. All the videos I've seen seem to be simple Maple fretboards throughout. Is there a way I can make sure the sides of the ebony (and the markers) aren't affected? Or am I overthinking this, and they'll be fine.
Keep in mind, I'm planning on taking off a slight coat. Nothing crazy. Not a FULL satin finish or anything.
Thanks!
Also, any grit level recommendations greatly appreciated!
