sorry if the photography isnt perfect, im using a cell phone. a good one but still a cell phone.

this is hanging in a local guitar store and is not a copy or clone it is an original rosewood telecaster. not for sale though, just there to say they have it. the pinstripe supposedly indicates that it is weight relieved according to the store clerk. so this is not the exact model that george harison played but still rare and very cool. it feels weight relived so ill take th guys word for that.

i asked about it and they actually offered to take it down so i can play it! i said maybe next time, im out of practice and wouldnt feel right playing it if i totally sucked. i mean it draws attention so id feel like all eyes are on me.

There's a Fender Custom Shop walnut tele in the used section of my local GC.  I've played it (unamplified) and from a setup perspective, was unimpressed :).  I'm just saying this to make sure you ask the GC guy if it's an original walnut tele from the 60's or a modern CS reproduction.  Also, if you've really got a hankering for a walnut tele and don't want to pay CS prices, you can build a pretty close reproduction from W parts.

you misunderstand, it is rosewood and it said to be an original from 1972 and prior and not a cs repro! although they did make cs repros. very rare! modeled after the george harison telecaster. i dont know the production numbers but they are low.

Interesting.  The originals (two apparently) were made in the late 60's (http://www.juliensauctions.com/auctions/entertainment_legends/george-harrison-guitar.html).  I guess they must've kept making these in limited production afterwards.  What kind of price do they have on that thing?

looking at it it may me a cs but an older one. but i was told by the guys that work there that its not.

There were Japanese versions made at some point as well. I remember playing one years back at a vintage shop, and that I always regretted not buying (which led to the quest for a RW tele that ended with my 12-string build).

That guitar is complete win. I would love to see the back of it. You should throw pics up if you ever do play it...
