Reverse Lawrence/Hetfield Headstock (4+2) Vs. WGD (4+2)???

Just like the title says, are there 4+2 versions with a longer crescent blade? How about WGD in 4+2?

"Standing on the verge of gettin' it on" with a washed blue/mahogany VIP with "F hole." So I look for the VIP matching headstock and find WGD in only 3+3 configuration. I think it would look more appropriate in this instance, in a 4+2 config with a slight upwards curve.

Was also thinking of the King Slayer's reverse headstock. Wicked! Maybe a bit *pointy* for my  :laughing11: Orange  :laughing3: Blueberry (The theme is going to be fat, juicy tone, like fruit, maybe sliced with one of those samurai spears with long curved crescent blades  :headbang:

Anyways, for my AD&D buddies out there, I was thinking a bit less "Pierce" and a bit more "Slash" by easing up on the arrow, and extending the cresent blade with 4+2 reverse Lawrence/Headstock.  :dontknow:

MNJDTELEE help me out here please  :occasion14:

P.S. :party07:  Psychedelic Breafast fricking RULEZ!!!  :guitaristgif:

IIRC, when Warmoth was doing the VW (EVH or Wolfgang shape), Ernie Ball MusicMan slapped them with a cease and desist order.  That included doing any 4+2 headstock shapes and 3+2 on 5 string basses.  EBMM, even has dibbs on calling it that.  The mention of it in a Warmoth thread is probably enough to make the EBMM attorney's search engines light up.

If it's possible to get it without tuner reams at all you could place them yourself.
Alternatively begin with a paddle neck blank and do the whole shebang.

Wow! I never noticed the first 2 pics that you shaped that headstock yourself!  I just assumed W did it.
You did an amazing job with that Kuro Uma!

Yeah that guitar slays.

2 last questions:

1) Would I be able to trace/rout a MM VH Wolfgang headstock verbatim on my own with a paddle headstock as long as I did not sell it? Legal flexibility?

2) I am interested in a fatback neck for the tone (and the name) but not the cramps. Would it be possible to send a (Warmoth) fatback neck back to Warmoth to be shaved down to SRV contour? Am thinking big, fat tone, but maybe Fatback is too much of a stretch.

Okay 3 questions sorry:
What guitar at say...Guitar Center would have a Fatback neck contour?

I found that 3+ page thread on neck contour radius ("59 Roundback) very helpful. Maybe I'll have to measure the space between my thumb and first finger....

Nobody but your attorney can tell you for sure (and if he claims absolute certainty, fire him), but if you trace and cut out  your own VH or EB/MM headstock, you hardly represent the kind of market power that makes the big boys want to pick a fight.

Hell, you could even sell it, for the same reason.  But start selling a lot of them, and you have problems.

Dusty - do whatever you want man. There are no legal issues on anything as long as you're not mass-producing and publically selling. Hell, +1 to all what
Bagman said, plus, throw on a officially cloned Ernie Ball Music Man water-slide decal and you're still OK.

Thanks dude! I actually don't want to clone it.
Need a bit of "wet and wild" in the headstock for my new " :laughing11: Orange  :headbang1: Blueberry."

Something to balance the color contrast with some sass, and still have some class to match the VIP body w/"f" hole.

Hmmmm......what could it possibly be?  :dontknow:
And I hope I don't have to wait another whole year?    :tard:

lol
